Brighton & Hove Festival of Food and Drink got off to a hot start at in the newly launched [and aptly named] Red Lounge at Rendezvous Casino in Brighton Marina with the Chilli Challenge. Guests were invited to play Chilli Roulette - the higher the stakes the hotter the chips, and if you lost - you ate your chips! Specially provided by The Chilli Shop, the edible roulette chips were a great hit. For those feeling thirsty and adventurous there was Chilli Russian Roulette with beer shots - if you got the chilli beer shot you were out. Anyone who hadn't lost and eaten enough chilli chips on the Roulette table could chance their tastebuds with the Chilli sauce taste challenge - 10 sauces increasing in fierceness to the worlds hottest. Brighton and Hove's mayor Cllr Anne Meadows - good sport that she is - survived the challenged - but only just!
There's lots more fun in store over the next 10 days for those who love good food and drink as the Spring 2012 Brighton & Hove Festival of Food and Drink continues with plenty of both free and ticketed events for adults and children alike. For full details pick up a brochure or visit the website
