Sunday October 10th 2010. Open day at The Engineerium in Hove. A rare chance came to view the glories of The Steam Age at the restored Victorian Goldstone Pumping Station. It houses a large collection of steam engines, including its famous fully restored and working No.2 Beam Engine, which were joined by a range of visiting Traction Engines under steam outside, whilst inside scale models were on display. Robert Marks, Brighton's well known Victorian Ghost, gave guided tours in the persona of eminent Victorian engineer Thomas Hawksley who instigated the original construction in 1858.
