10 Sussex Winemakers, vintners and restauranteurs have 3 minutes each to make their case for the wine they have brought along for the audience to sample in Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival's "Make your Case" Punk Wine tasting. Wines are sampled blind and presenters can't mention the grape, price, or country of origin, relying instead on wit, eloquence, comedy and even poetry to win the audience's votes. Panelists were Henry Butler [Butler's Wine Cellar], Head Sommelier at Hotel du Vin Ziggy Grinsberg, Aimee Knight [Bolney Wine Estate], Sarah Thompson [Blackdown Spirits], David Deaves [La Cave A Fromage] Tom Surgey [Ridgeview Wine Estate], Ben Martin [21 Wines] Kate Alleston [Graze Restaurant], James Reima [Majestic Wines], Simon Broad [Ten Green Bottles. Unanimous winner was Ridgeview Estate's Tom Surgey with his English Sparkling Wine, runners up were Henry Butler and Kate Alleston. photo©Julia Claxton
