The climax of Brighton Japan’s week of events was the Asahi Anime Festival. Now in its third year, the Asahi Anime Festival is a celebration of Japanese animation, comics and everything which is current and popular in Japan.
Bartholomew Square is taken over by colourful fashionistas, Cosplay competition contestants, and crazy manga characters. Lessons in how to draw your own characters, participation in open-air karaoke sessions or simply browsing the 30 stalls selling everything from Japanese food to anime toys and cutting edge fashion was the order of the day.
