Andrew Kay of Latest Magazine, Andrea Fox of Juice FM, Claire Ottewell of the Tourism Alliance, with special guest judge Chris Beaumont from The Beaumont Hotel in Maastricht chose the three finalists for the Bloody Mary Mix Off final at the Brighton & Hove Festival of Food and Drink held this weekend. Sam Sidgwick and Alan William Coulter, both of Above Audio and Ben Ranger of The Hove Kitchen made it through to the finals. A close run thing from Pete Mierzwa of Hotel Seattle, and Alistair Barnes of Above Audio, the other two shortlisted contestants.
The three finalists went forward to the public judging at the Big Sussex Market in New Road. The eventual winner was announced at the prize giving on the Live Food stage in The Corn Exchange - by popular vote it was Sam Sidgwick of Above Audio. Well done Sam! Many thanks to event sponsors Belvedere Vodka and Eager Tomato Juice.
