Brighton Japan, a week-long celebration of Japanese film, art, performance and culture hosted by Brighton’s premier Japanese restaurant Moshi Moshi and Asahi beer, launched with a well attended party and fundraising dinner. Guests were treated to a wild and wacky musical performance from Frank Chickens before sitting down to a sumptuous Japanese dinner at the Thistle Hotel. Hotly contested prizes were raffled and auctioned during the evening to help raise funds for the rebuilding of Japan after the earthquake and Tsunami earlier this year.

Performances and events will take place across the city’s most prestigious venues, including Brighton Dome & Pavilion Theatre, Duke of York’s, Hotel Du Vin, and Moshi Moshi, making Brighton Japan the biggest annual showcase of modern and traditional Japanese culture in the UK.
