Visiting the Pasticceria Russo in Santa Venerina, Sicily with Brighton & Hove Food Festival International Chef Exchange. Run by the Russo family since 1880 one of the pasticceria's specialities is hand painted marzipan, painstakingly crafted and painted by Maria Nevia Russo into convincingly realistic fruits, flowers and even sea creatures. They also make what must be some of the best canolli in the world, which with a cup of their excellent coffee was one of the many highlights of the visit.
