It was all happening at Churchill Square Shopping Centre today. The weather was kind to us after yesterday's storms and all but one of the planned events went ahead. The usual Wednesday farmers market selling locally grown and caught produce, hand made cakes, breads, vegetarian snacks and other delicious treats was augmented by the Brighton & Hove Festival of Food And Drink Live Kitchen. This starred cooking demonstrations by: Vegan caterers Tit Bits, who created tasty vegan dishes for hungry shoppers to try; Carlo from Agua Dulce who came down with his wife and Chef Jesus Ricardi to make one of their fabled paellas and The Brighton and Hove Food Partnership, who made tasty bramble and apple pancakes and boxty which were all well received. I was just looking forward to the Sabai Thai demonstration and tasters when I got a press call for Peter Andre. Stopping only long enough to scoop up a food festival apron and Tina Cantina with a box of vegetarian goodies to attempt to tempt Peter with we raced over to Smiths where he was doing his book signing. Peter - apparently a keen foodie and vegetarian - very kindly took time out to have a look through the food festival brochure. He seemed to like the look of Tina's snack box, but there wasn't time for him to try anything before he went out to meet his adoring fans including his no1 fan, wheelchair bound Cat Bridger from Worthing, who received a kiss and a hug along with her signed books. [Those pictures have to stay under wraps for the moment but we will post them later] All in all yet another fab Food Festival day, and there is lots more to come. For event details check out
