As part of the World Sacred Music Festival in Brighton Tibetan Buddhist monks from the Tashi Lhunpo monastery-in-exile created a stunning sand mandala through the course of the week at the Sallis Benney University Gallery. On Saturday, in a closing ritual, the mandala was swept up and some of it taken in procession to the sea where it was set adrift on the waves to disperse the healing energies of the mandala throughout the world.
