Mixology Group's Cocktail mixing competition swung into round two to an enthusiastic audience at Above Audio in Brighton tonight. Judges Andrew Kay [Latest Magazine], Albie Barrat [Above Audio], Tim Carroll [Mixology Group] and Chris Cox [Maxxium UK] risked a vodka shampoo as contestants wielded the sponsors Stolichnaya Gala Applik vodka at speed to mix three cocktails in under 5 minutes. The cocktails - Stoli Apple Smash [variation on Mojito], a Stolitan [think Cosmopolitan] and Summer Breeze had to be drinkable as well - time penalties were awarded for less than perfect points in the judges tasting sessions. Contestants vying for a win and a trip to the finals were Above Audio's Sam Sidgwick, Mark Stokes and Florian Quillere, Ehren Khoo-Steel from Caprichios, Yan Rabasse [Merkaba], Francois Monin [Lucky Voice], Polish Piotr [Hotel Seattle], Dan Hovell [Twisted Lemon and freelancer Luca Milano. The eventual winner was Ehren, who beat Francois into second and Polish Pete into third places respectively. Mixology Group's Myles Cunliffe excelled himself again at organising a great event, ably assisted by Zoe Cunliffe.
