Day 2 of the Nivarata Granita Festival. Presentation of granitas to the judges and an on stage guest Gelato maker at Nivarata Seb Cole from Brighton UK's Boho Gelato with his International Chef Exchange partner Nicola Scaccionoce, who will visit Brighton in turn at the Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival in September, make gelato for an overenthusiastic audience. Foldk dancers and other delights entertain the crowds.
Gelato makers from across Italy gather for Nivarata, the festival of Sicilian artisan made granita, which runs from 6th - 8th June in the newly built Angolo di Paradiso cultural centre in Villa Belvedere Gardens, and around the town of Acireale in Sicily. UK's Seb Cole of Boho Gelato, Brighton who is also at the Nivarata festival as part of Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival's International Chef Exchange enjoys swapping techniques, tastes and recipes with his new found friends and colleagues among the gelatieri.Visitors to the festival experience the architecture, history and culture of Sicily through events ranging from granita tasting to a classic motor cycle rally.
