September 30th 2010. Brighton and Hove Food and Drink Festival draws to a close with a sumptuous feast: the Spanish Gala Dinner at the Hotel Du Vin. The menu created in conjunction with the Spanish Food Company, who sourced some outstanding ingredients, included: a salad of beyos [cheese] lomo and serrano hams drizzled with honey; salt cod; and roast rump of lamb, lentils and chorizo with a salsa verde. The five course meal had a superb selection of Spanish wines chosen to complement each course by Mona and Pierre, the accomplished sommeliers at Hotel du Vin, and included a crisp cava, superb rosé, an elegant white, a robust red and a fine sherry. A taste of Spain so enjoyed by the foodie crowd who thronged the Dome Dining room it had many contemplating a trip to Spain in the near future!
