What a lovely laid back Sunday. Walked to Kemptown along the seafront in the rain for lunch at Brighton Rocks with friends. Even in the rain Brighton is fun - great splashes of colour from the sails of racing Hobie cats on the water resonate against the grey of the skies, whilst Classic Cars gather on Madeira Drive after their annual run down from London. Roast dinner is massive and tasty - I can't eat it all, but after post prandial relaxing with papers and chat I find that on my return journey I can manage freshly cooked donut and a chat at the kiosk on the prom. Then there are strange goings on to investigate in the paddling pool where someone is standing knee deep in water whilst wearing a rain coat and hat apparently trying to brush the water out of the pool with a broom… After watching for a while I realise it is sand that has migrated from the sand pit to the pool that is being cleared. A little further on there are Swing dancers practicing on the bandstand so I stop to take a few photos and chat when they take a breather. Such a lovely way to spend the day…
