The Clarence Suite at The Hilton transformed itself into The Whisky Lounge on Saturday as part of the Brighton & Hove Festival of Food and Drink. By turns intense, serious and jovial, visitors had the opportunity to sample a fabulous array of whiskies. Provided with a tasting glass, tasting notes and a bottle of water they thronged the stands of the many distillers and bottlers who had come to showcase their spirits. My overall impression of the event was how passionate people are about whisky, but then it is not surprising when you begin to understand how such a huge variety of tastes and flavours are encompassed by this wonderful spirit.
