Visiting the Distillerie Russo, Santa Venerina, Catania, Sicily with Brighton & Hove Food Festival International Chef Exchange. The Russo brothers, Salvatore and Guiseppe are justifiably proud of the distillery which has been in the family since 1870. The tour of the distillery at included a tasting of the liqueurs one of which, the fiery brew Fuoco del Vulcano [Fire of the Volcano] is named in honour of Mount Etna near where the distillery is located. With typical Sicilian generosity the ICEx team were not allowed to leave untill we had each chosen 3 bottles of their fabulous liqueurs to bring home with us.
